In Vejer, we have three casitas – Trafalgar, Medina and Zahara
Vejer de la Frontera was declared a site of special historical and artistic interest in 1976 and winner of the 1st prize ‘Embellecimento de Pueblos’ in 1978 and Great Tourist Attraction 1996-2000, 2000-2004
Vejer is a walled, white town, perched at the edge of a cliff high above rolling green pastures, home to some of Spain’s leading bull-breeding farms. Easter Sunday is still celebrated by turning a bull loose in the narrow streets!
The Moorish streets of Vejer are captivating, carefully guarding the remnants of a precious past, traditional flower-filled interior patios and well-preserved monuments. Some of the streets are so steep that they have handrails!

Our three casitas are situated in a ‘conservation area' of the old town of Vejer and enjoy spectacular views to the south and the coast.
Although only 100 metres from ‘Plaza de Espana', the town centre, with it's lively, discerning restaurants and bars, they are located in a tranquil, traditional, private ‘Andaluz' patio with an historic, private entrance, beautiful garden patio and communal cave rooms carved out of the natural rock on which the whole residence is built.
Each casita is entered from the garden patio in true Andaluz style. Each one has its own large, totally private, south-facing terrace, with views of Vejer old-town across the steep valley, above which the town is built, and the broad alluvial plain of the River Barbate as it meanders to the sea and North Africa beyond.
The ancient double fronted entrance would have seen ‘donkey drawn' farm vehicles pass under its beamed roof and into one of the communal stables cut into the rockface in days gone by. The entrance is in a pedestrianised area on the corner of Arenalejos and Silla Vieja, which boasts a décor of floral troughs and hanging baskets for which it is locally celebrated.
Vejer has a wide range of restaurants to suit most tastes, including traditional Spanish, French/Mediteranean and Moroccan as well as the typical ‘tapas' bars, so inviting in this part of Spain. Indeed at the end of Silla Vieja, only 50 metres from the casitas , is the highly regarded Moroccan style, terrace restaurant of the Califa Hotel.
Beautiful El Palmar beach ‘Vejer Costa' is just a 15 minute drive away.
